In 2001, the European Association of Vocational Training Providers (EVBB) held its fifth international conference in collaboration with the Russian Academy of Education and the City of Moscow. The conference took place at the prestigious Moscow Lomonosov University, renowned for its contributions to education and research.
During the conference, important discussions took place with key stakeholders, including representatives from the Russian Academy of Education and the Russian Ministry of Education, represented by Dr. Alexander Kondakov, Deputy Minister of Education. One of the major decisions made during the conference was to reorient EVBB’s quality criteria towards ISO 9000:2001 standards.
This strategic shift towards ISO 9000:2001 demonstrated the commitment of EVBB and its partners to enhance the quality of vocational training and education both in Europe and in Russia. By adopting internationally recognized quality standards, the aim was to stimulate the implementation of this quality approach not only within EVBB but also in Russia’s educational institutions.
The collaboration between EVBB, the Russian Academy of Education, and the Russian Ministry of Education showcased the importance of international cooperation in promoting excellence in vocational training and education. The conference provided a valuable platform for sharing best practices, fostering mutual understanding, and supporting the continuous improvement of education and training systems in both Europe and Russia.
