SeaAhead
The SeaAhead project’s goal is to modernize the maritime sector by establishing Centers of Vocational Excellence. By integrating the Knowledge Triangle, it boosts the skills and innovation of maritime professionals to ensure global competitiveness. The initiative operates through four strategic pillars: advancing VET through XR and simulation technologies, empowering employers with remote training solutions, fostering entrepreneurship, and creating a joint educational framework among maritime academies.
Objectives
• Curriculum & Skills: Aligning maritime training with market trends through micro-credentials, upskilling, and flexible learning pathways.
• Technological Innovation: Mainstreaming AR/VR for immersive training and strengthening cybersecurity within digital infrastructures.
• Sectoral Resilience: Enhancing industry stability against environmental and geopolitical shifts while supporting new Blue Economy business models.
• Entrepreneurship: Driving innovation by establishing specialized start-up incubators and entrepreneurship hubs.
• Inclusion & Global Reach: Promoting diversity and fostering global VET cooperation through shared competence recognition.

• Organized regional and international events to foster cooperation between maritime academies and global industry leaders.
• AR/VR simulation scenarios designed for immersive, risk-free professional skill development.
• A comprehensive entrepreneurship ecosystem and dedicated innovation hubs to nurture maritime startups.
• Scalable online learning platforms and MOOCs providing accessible, modern training.
• A specialized cybersecurity lab prototype to modernize digital infrastructure.
