We had a fantastic experience at the Summer Days 2023: The Green Economy and New Forms of Work, organized by CESI – Independent Trade Unions in partnership with Bertelsmann Stiftung & Reshaping Work on the 29th of June, in Brussels. The presence of Sotiria Tsalamani, EVBB Project Manager, at this event was incredibly valuable as it allowed us to gain insights into important topics such as Birgit Wintermann’s talk on “Towards a greener and fairer Europe,” Jovana Karanovic’s discussion on “Back to what truly matters for the future of work,” Joost Korte’s insights into “A green transition with workers at the core,” and Francesco Corti’s presentation on “Social Europe 2024: The plan of the Belgian Presidency.”
In European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training (EVBB), our commitment to social progress aligns with the goals outlined in the roadmap presented during the event. We recognize the crucial role of vocational education and training (VET) in realizing a Social Europe, where access to decent work and equal opportunities are prioritized. The discussions and presentations emphasized the importance of sustainable and equitable practices in the green economy and the need to empower workers to be at the forefront of the transition towards a more environmentally conscious and socially inclusive Europe. We are inspired and motivated to continue our efforts to foster vocational excellence and contribute to the realization of a greener, fairer, and socially just Europe.
