Latvia launches its first Regional Skills Partnership for Tourism — with EVBB as co-leader

Riga, Latvia | April 2025

On April 29th, Latvia celebrated a major achievement in skills development with the official launch of its first Regional Skills Partnership (RSP) for the tourism sector. The event, held in Riga, was co-led by EVBB in the framework of the Pact for Skills for Tourism, with support from the PACTS4ALL project.

Building on the foundations of TourX and PANTOUR, this new partnership sets a strong precedent for involving regional actors in shaping education and training strategies aligned with labour market needs.

The meeting gathered over 30 key players from Latvia and across Europe, including the Riga Tourism and Creative Industry Technical School, the Riga Planning Region, the Ministry of Education and Science of Latvia, local tourism associations, and European partners such as Federturismo Confindustria and EVBB. Together, they exchanged good practices, explored the TourX platform, and drafted a shared roadmap for skills development.

The highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Collaboration, now supported by ten institutions committed to strengthening tourism training in the Riga region and beyond.

EVBB thanks its Latvian partners for their dedication and looks forward to continued cooperation as this new partnership becomes a reference for regional innovation in vocational education.
