From May 6th to 8th, 2025, partners of the Food Routes project gathered in Rabat, Morocco, for a Transnational Project Meeting hosted by OFPPT – Office for Vocational Training and Employment Promotion. The meeting brought together partners from across Europe and the MENA region to review progress, explore vocational training practices, and strengthen cooperation in the field of gastronomy, hospitality and cultural heritage.
The event was held at the Guich Loudaya VTC, a vocational training centre specialising in hospitality and tourism. Following a warm welcome by OFPPT, the meeting opened with updates on project progress and presentations by work package leaders. Discussions focused on the implementation of project activities and synergies between partners.
Participants also had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the Guich Loudaya centre, gaining insights into Moroccan training methods and the country’s efforts to modernise the hospitality sector through vocational education.
On the second day, the group visited the City of Skills and Trades (CMC-Rabat), a state-of-the-art training campus, and met with local stakeholders from the tourism and gastronomy sectors. These visits showcased the project’s commitment to building bridges between vocational education and local economies rooted in culinary and cultural identity.
This TPM in Rabat offered not only a space for strategic planning but also an inspiring exchange of practices around food, tradition and training—central pillars of the Food Routes project.
EVBB warmly thanks OFPPT for their generous hosting and all partners for their continued dedication to preserving culinary heritage through VET.
