As EVBB is a member of the European Entrepreneuers CEA-PME, we hereby have to inform you that its European President Mario Ohoven, also president of BVMW (German Association of Medium-Sized Enterprises) in Germany, was suddenly torn from his life on 1st of November in a traffic accident. The Executive Board, management, employees and all member associations of the European Confederation of SME Associations European Entrepreneurs CEA-PME are united in deep mourning for the SME president.
We bow in respectful gratitude to his incomparable life’s work. In more than two decades, Mario Ohoven has shaped the BVMW as the leading association of medium-sized companies in Germany with 340 branches and 60 of its own foreign offices. He was the face and the voice of the BVMW, his word had great weight in politics, economy and society. At the top of German and European medium-sized companies, he worked tirelessly for the millions of small and medium-sized companies and the self-employed.
Mr Ohoven was a convinced believer in the European project: he engaged in constructive dialogues with European partners and with the representatives of European Institutions and pushed forward many actions to support the further development of the European Union.
In recognition of his successful work, Mario Ohoven has received numerous high awards at home and abroad. With his charismatic personality, he got people excited about entrepreneurship far beyond the BVMW and European Entrepreneurs CEA-PME. Our mission is to develop and fulfill his legacy, goals and ideas for the small and medium-sized businesses.
We remember with deep compassion an extraordinary person and role model, a visionary entrepreneur and pioneer. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
