About Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo de Cabo Verde

The Hotel and Tourism School of Cabo Verde, a Public Business Entity (EPE) created almost 12 years ago under the Cabo Verde/Luxembourg Cooperation, is a public vocational training center inaugurated in 2011, whose mission is to train specialized technicians in the field of Hotel, Catering and Tourism. The EHTCV was set up to fill the gaps in the Cape Verdean tourism market, which lacks a qualified workforce, and to help improve the quality of the country’s tourism offer. Designed according to internationally recognized models for Hotel and Tourism Schools, the EHTCV qualifies human resources who work in the tourism market and promotes a true culture of hospitality, with a focus on service. It is also intended to be a national and international benchmark. It is currently a benchmark school for vocational training, both nationally and internationally, in the hotel, catering and tourism sector, with specific courses in cooking, pastry, hotel management, restaurant/bar, floor and laundry services, tour guiding, etc. The school also has modern, high-quality infrastructures, such as a production kitchen and an application kitchen, a self-service restaurant where meals are served to resident trainees as well as employees, and an educational restaurant for practical application that is open to the public, allowing trainees to get practical training similar to what they do in a real work context, and above all allowing potential employers to check the practical skills of these future professionals.rooms and other basic infrastructures of an accommodation establishment, being:

• 32 triple rooms for resident students (1 female and 1 male floor);
• 27 double rooms for external clients (including 3 pilot rooms and 1 apartment);

• Cafeteria;
• Sports and recreational area.
