About Together for Life

Together for Life (TFL) is a non-profit organization established in December 2009 by a group of well-known Albanian journalists committed to advancing human rights and social justice. Recognized as one of Albania’s first and most prominent human rights organizations, TFL works to empower vulnerable communities through information, education, capacity building, research and advocacy. The organization places particular emphasis on supporting communities in remote and economically disadvantaged areas, as well as women and youth. TFL’s work is grounded in a strong commitment to human dignity, equality, and democratic values. The organization envisions a society in which all individuals fully enjoy their rights, are valued and treated equally, and are able to participate meaningfully in social, economic, and cultural life. Through its mission, TFL advances public health governance, human rights protection and social accountability in Albania by empowering citizens, amplifying the voices of marginalized groups and holding institutions accountable. A core pillar of TFL’s work is strengthening public health governance and transparency. The organization promotes accountability in the health sector, monitors public service delivery and advocates for policies that ensure equitable access to quality healthcare. Through evidence-based research, policy analysis and civic engagement initiatives, TFL contributes to improving institutional integrity and reinforcing public trust in democratic systems. Social inclusion and empowerment are central to TFL’s approach. The organization addresses pressing social challenges such as poverty, gender-based violence, sexual abuse, discrimination and inequality. By supporting democratic development and social cohesion, TFL fosters stronger community participation and improved social services for individuals and families in need. Particular attention is given to advancing gender equality and enhancing the economic and civic participation of women and marginalized groups. Education and civic engagement also play a key role in TFL’s activities. The organization promotes non-formal learning, volunteerism, active citizenship and youth participation as drivers of democratic development. Through training programs, awareness campaigns and community-based initiatives, TFL equips young people with the knowledge and skills necessary to engage constructively in public life.
