About Ukrainain Tourist Guides Association

The Ukrainian Tourist Guides Association (UTGA) is a nationally recognized professional organization dedicated to advancing the field of tourism and guiding in Ukraine. Established to support and develop professional standards in tourism, UTGA serves as a hub for expertise, training, and innovation in the sector. Our mission is to enhance the quality and accessibility of tourism services, promote cultural heritage, and foster professional growth among tourist guides and related stakeholders. UTGA operates through several structural divisions, including the Training and Consultation Center, the Qualification Center, and the Center for Continuing Education and Professional Qualifications. These units are integral to our efforts in providing high-quality education and training programs tailored to the needs of the tourism industry. We focus on developing practical skills, enhancing cultural competency, and promoting sustainable tourism practices. Our Association is actively engaged in fostering collaboration with international partners, including key European professional organizations such as ENAT Accessible Tourism Group, Europa Nostra, and Cedefop. By aligning with EU standards and initiatives, UTGA integrates global best practices into local contexts, ensuring that our members are equipped to meet the dynamic demands of the tourism sector. In addition to training and professional development, UTGA is committed to promoting inclusivity and accessibility in tourism. We advocate for the creation of tourism experiences that are welcoming and accessible to all, regardless of physical ability or background. Achievements

Main achievements of the Ukrainian Tour Guides Association (UTGA): Development of national standards for tour guides. The UTGA plays a key role in creating and implementing national standards for tourist guides in Ukraine, aligning them with EU best practices to ensure high-quality services. Integration with European professional networks. The Association establishes partnerships with leading European organizations, such as ENAT Accessible Tourism Group, Europa Nostra, Cedefop, and EVBB. This cooperation improves knowledge exchange and capacity building in the field of tourism and guides. Successful implementation of training programs. Through the Training and Consulting Center, the UTGA conducts professional trainings by EN 15565:2008 (Tourism services – Requirements for the provision of professional tourist guide training and qualification programmes), certifies tourist guides throughout Ukraine.
