Technical Skills Hub Bridge – VET
The main objective of the project is to contribute to reducing the skills mismatch at VET level, both initial and continuing, by fostering a structured dialogue facilitated by innovative digital tools between schools in the VET system and enterprises, in particular small enterprises which lack the skills and resources to address this serious critical issue effectively.
Objectives of the project
The TECH-BRIDGE VET project aims at contributing to reduce the skills mismatch in the mechanical engineering
sector with regard to technical profiles (in particular maintenance technician and numerical control machine
operator), by fostering dialogue between schools and enterprises, updating school curricula on the basis of
emerging labour market demands, and enabling SMEs to find candidates with the right technical skills.
Expected Results
A technical academy model based on a digital platform for collaboration between schools and SMEs in the mechanical engineering sector will be modelled. The platform will be used to update the identified job profiles and related training curricula for the target students and workers. The curricula will be tested through a summer school for school leavers and a permanent training school for workers involved in reskilling.
Project Activities
It will be possible to have an up-to-date and flexible training offer, in line with labour market developments for the
profiles maintenance technician and CNC machine operator; a platform that supports the collaboration with the
business world in a structured way and tools to make the choice of VET more attractive. The Tech-Bridge
Academy model will represent a hub of technical skills at local level for the benefit of both schools and SMEs in
the mechanical sector.
