The EVBB warmly welcomed SAAM Mobility, marking the start of the II Capacity Building event – Seminar held from 28th February to 3rd March 2023. The event brought together approximately 50 participants from 25 African countries for meaningful discussions on enhancing cooperation between the 🇪🇺 European Union and the African Union Development Agency-NEPAD through VET mobilities. Throughout the day, our Secretary General, Theodor Grassos, extended a warm welcome to all attendees and later presented on the topic of good practices of networking and sustainability assurance.
Day 1 of the event was dedicated to fostering networking opportunities among the diverse participants and launching the activities of the thematic groups, namely, Green VET and sustainability, Digitalization and technology (VET 4.0), Entrepreneurship, and Inclusive Vocational Excellence. The conference featured distinguished keynote speakers, including Nicholas Omondi Ouma, Senior Youth Advisor at the African Union Commission Department of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (ESTI), nicola bellomo – Head of Pan-African Affairs Division (AFRICA.1) at the European External Action Service, Susanne Nielsen – Human Capital Development Expert at the European Training Foundation (ETF) and coordinator of the partnership ‘Greening Responses to Excellence through Thematic Actions’ (GRETA), Rita Festi – Project Manager at Scuola Centrale Formazione (SCF) and leader of the SAAM Network (WP8), and Unami Dube Mpofu – Head of Unit Skills and Employment for Youth at the African Union Development Agency-NEPAD. The event served as a dynamic platform for exchanging ideas and expertise on international collaboration in VET mobility.
