PJ-D-VET Kick-Off Meeting: Building Bridges for Dual VET in Palestine and Jordan

From April 22nd to 25th, 2025, partners of the PJ-D-VET project gathered in Lisbon, Portugal for the official Kick-Off Meeting, hosted by the Instituto Superior Técnico – Universidade de Lisboa. The meeting marked the beginning of this Erasmus+ CBHE initiative, which aims to develop a tailored Dual VET model for Palestine and Jordan, inspired by successful European practices.

The agenda focused on the exchange of models and experiences from Europe, with particular emphasis on the German system. Representing EVBB, Sonia Degroote delivered two detailed presentations on the German Dual VET framework, covering stakeholder cooperation, legal foundations, curriculum co-design, and certification. The discussion was enriched with insights from Austria, Spain and Finland.

The programme also included a site visit to ISQ Academy, where participants explored practical examples of VET delivery in areas such as robotics, green energy and construction. Hosted by Director Margarida Segard, the visit highlighted how private VET providers can align with industry needs while maintaining strong educational standards.
Throughout the meeting, partners collaborated on the design of a pilot curriculum aligned with EQF level 5, addressing governance, accreditation, and company involvement.

The event laid the groundwork for the next phases of the project and reinforced a shared commitment to inclusive, practice-oriented vocational education in the Southern Neighbourhood region.

EVBB thanks IST-ULisboa and all project partners for their engagement and collaboration.
