EVBB takes part in STARS Project Study Visit in Athens

Athens, Greece | April 2025

On April 6 to 8 2025, EVBB joined the Study Visit and Transnational Project Meeting of the STARS project in Athens, three enriching days filled with learning, collaboration, and forward-thinking dialogue in the field of sports education.

The programme began with a visit to the AKMI Campus, where partners explored the facilities of the sports school, including their gym and physiotherapy labs. The visit provided valuable insight into innovative practices in sports training and student wellbeing. That afternoon, the third Transnational Project Meeting brought all partners together to review progress, exchange research findings, and explore future synergies, particularly with an eye on the upcoming Milano-Cortina and Dakar youth events.

On the second day, participants visited the Metropolitan College Sports Department in Marousi. They toured the centre, engaged with students, and learned more about pedagogical approaches in sport sciences. The day concluded with an inspiring visit to the Hellenic Volleyball Federation and the Hellenic Paralympic Committee at the Olympic Athletic Center of Athens, reinforcing the project’s commitment to inclusion and excellence in sport.

The final day featured a Design Thinking Workshop, where participants co-designed the framework for upcoming workshops to be held during the COP COVES event in Denmark. The session included thought-provoking presentations on open education, youth engagement, and strategies to combat violence in sports.

EVBB warmly thanks AKMI for their outstanding hosting and all project partners for their energy and vision. The Athens meeting reflected the STARS project’s mission: to innovate, connect, and shape the future of sports education across Europe.
