EVBB supports inclusive VET innovation in Côte d’Ivoire through Design Together

Duékoué, Côte d’Ivoire | 1-3 April 2025

On the 1st to 3rd of April, EVBB took part in a study visit to Duékoué, Côte d’Ivoire, within the scope of the Design Together project, furthering its commitment to inclusive, demand-driven vocational education and training. The visit was hosted at the Don Bosco Vocational Training Institute, a key factor in technical education in the region, and brought together a diverse group of partners from across Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Over the course of three intensive days, participants explored how to co-design training programmes that not only reflect the needs of learners but also respond to the realities of local labour markets. The agenda combined peer learning sessions, collaborative curriculum design workshops, and discussions on sustainability and quality assurance. The delegation also engaged in direct exchanges with local employers and representatives from the Ministry of Education, culminating in a guided tour of the institute’s facilities and a closing cultural event.

The workshops were led by Sonia De Groote, Head of EVBB’s Brussels Office, who contributed her expertise in aligning vocational training with industry needs, fostering cross-sector partnerships, and building resilient, future-ready education systems.

This visit marked a significant milestone in the project’s mission to strengthen institutional bridges between European and African VET providers. It reaffirmed the shared commitment to co-create training models that are inclusive, flexible, and rooted in real-world challenges and opportunities.

EVBB remains proud to contribute to this dialogue and collaboration, supporting a more connected and responsive global VET ecosystem, one that serves learners and communities on both continents.
