We are thrilled to announce the commencement of a four-year journey in the sunny city of Athens, hosted by our Member AKMI International. This marks the initiation of the Eldicare 2.0 project, aimed at redefining skills in a post-COVID European Silver Economy.
Eldicare 2.0 is an ambitious Blueprint project funded by the European Commission under the call Alliance for Innovation. The project seeks to reshape the skills required for the current Long-Term Care profession, with the active participation of 17 organizations from 10 different countries across Europe.
The participating organizations, each with extensive experience in the Silver Economy, are joining forces to advance the objectives of this project. Notably, Eldicare 2.0 is a follow-up to the successful Eldicare 1.0 initiative that began in 2018.
Over the course of seven work packages, these organizations will collaboratively define a long-term strategy for the Silver Economy, establishing a skills intelligence process for the sector.
Throughout the four-year duration of Eldicare 2.0, the goal is to provide training for over 500 professionals in the sector. This initiative aims to enhance the quality and employability of these professionals, who have proven to be invaluable, particularly during the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
As we embark on this journey, we look forward to the next steps and the positive impact Eldicare 2.0 will have on the Silver Economy and the dedicated professionals within it.
