European Vocational Skills Week

This first European Vocational Skills Week took place from 5 to 9 December 2016 in Brussels, in European Member States plus EFTA and EU candidate countries. The so called VET Week closed with an estimated 702,250 people taking part in more than 900 activities across Europe that were organised at national, regional and local levels. Around 1400 participants joined the workshops, conferences and other events – for instance the EVBB / EVTA conference – in Brussels.

Cooperation with DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion

Following the successful implementation of the European Vocational Skills Week by DG Employment, a number of important issues were discussed and will be on the agenda for the forthcoming years.

This is why the Secretary General of EVBB will – following a request from CEDEFOP – coordinate a Working Group on the issue of Learning Providers and Migration. More on that will be communicated in our 1st newsletter 2017. In addition, all VET related alliances and discussion groups will be thoroughly scrutinized to see where EVBB has to be more active, such as the European Alliance for Apprenticeships, the Pact for Youth and others.
