The College of Machinery and Irrigation under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is a public vocational education institution of the national education system. Address of Campus 1: Ho Nai 3 Commune – Trang Bom District – Dong Nai Province, Address of Campus 2: Thien Tan Commune – Vinh Cuu District – Dong Nai Province. The College was established in 1976, with 45 years of formation and development. About the current organizational structure of VCMI, the College consists of a Management Board, 6 functional departments (Training; Administrative Organization; Finance and Accounting; Student Affairs; Accreditation and Quality Assurance; Science and International Cooperation), 7 specialized faculties (Mechanic Engineering; Electric – Electronic Engineering; Machinery Engineering; Economics; Information Technology; Basic Sciences; Driver Training), 2 centers (Enrollment Assistance and Career Counselling; Informatics and Foreign Languages) with 176 regular officers and teachers. 100% of the College’s officers and teachers meet the standards prescribed for cadres and vocational teachers by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs; Many teachers are trained to meet standards in Germany, Japan, Australia, and Korea. The College is currently provides training at college, intermediate, and elementary levels, including 16 college-level occupations, 16 intermediate-level occupations, and 14 elementary-level occupations with its current training scale of over 5,300 students per year. The college is carrying out 06 training programs following international standards, in which four following German standards and two in logistics following APEC standards (supported by Aus4Skills program).
The College was selected by the Prime Minister as one of 45 public schools for priority investment to become a high-quality College according to Decision No. 761/QD-TTg dated May 23, 2014 and Decision No. 1363/QD-TTg dated October 11, 2019; The College is a member of the national industry council for logistics, and is a national vocational skill assessment center. Every 5 years , it is accredited and assessed by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and the General Directorate of Vocational Training and is recognized training quality at level 3, the highest level in the vocational education quality accreditation system in Vietnam); The College was invested by Germany to develop it into an “Centre of Excellence for ‘Green’ TVET, a regional center of Cambodia – Laos – Myanmar – Vietnam”, approved by the Prime Minister under Decision No. 206/QD – TTg dated February 15, 2017, for synchronous investment in facilities, training equipment, renovation of its landscape; training of staff and teachers to meet German standards; taking the lead in forming and developing new occupations in ‘Green’ vocational training following international standards; The U.S. Embassy in Vietnam selected the College as one of 2 units nationwide to deploy the Access English Microscholarship Program for the period 2016-2018 sponsored by the U.S. Department of State; The Vietnam-Australia Partnership for Human Resource Development (Aus4Skills) program is supporting the College to develop and provide vocational training following APEC standards with occupations in the field of logistics: Forklift Operator, Warehouse Operator, etc..
