Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology is a prominent institution in Palestine, established in 2001 to advance vocational and technical education. It offers a range of two-year programs designed to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, addressing the needs of the local labor market. The college maintains strong partnerships with both public and private sectors, enhancing its educational offerings and community engagement. Additionally, it provides specialized training and rehabilitation programs, including initiatives for former prisoners of war to facilitate their reintegration into society.
Mission:
HHCT offers professional and technical training programs that match the national labor market standards. It also encourages technical and applied scientific research, individual and social work as well as implementing technology to improve the Palestinian community. In addition to that, the college always aspires to seek ties between local and international institutions, Qualifying graduates in technical fields according to the labor market demand, in an efficient, effective and sustainable manner.
HHCT is a non-profit organization. The main objective of the Institute is the development and strengthening of the technical education in addition HHCT is have membership in the Palestinian Technical Vocational Education and Training League, and The European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training (EVBB).and development the innovation through:
Academics:
The College consists of two academic departments:
1. The Department of Computer and Engineering Professions:
This department includes the specializations of electrical installations engineering, communication engineering, manufacturing and production engineering, industrial automation, computer networks and internet, refrigeration and Air conditioning, auto-Mechatronics and computerized information technology, hybrid and electric vehicles technology, renewable energy technology, Fiber-optic communication.
2. The Department of Applied Arts:
This Department includes the specializations of graphic design, interior design and décor, Beauty, Hair Care & Skin Care, and multimedia and web development, fashion design.
Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology has achieved the following notable milestones: Forsah Project: Focused on enhancing technical and vocational education opportunities. Introduced specialized programs, such as Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Body Repair and Painting, and rehabilitated facilities including classrooms and accessible restrooms. EU Policy Camp and EVBB Participation: Represented Palestine at the European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training (EVBB). Engaged in discussions on integrating AI into vocational education and fostering international collaboration. NEXTMED Program Involvement: Collaborated with international institutions to develop a project proposal focusing on Mediterranean vocational training and technical education. Carpentry and Female Empowerment Initiatives: Developed modern carpentry technology specializations and promoted female inclusion in non-traditional fields, supported by entrepreneurial incubators. Mobile Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Project: Proposed a mobile center to provide technical services across the northern West Bank, showcasing innovation in addressing community needs.
