About “Goychay Development Center” Youth Public Union

Goychay Development Centre the Non-Governmental Organization which is organized on the principles of volunteerism, common interest, equality of members. The area of the Union’s functioning is Goychay and surrounding regions. The main goal of the GDC is to support the realization of programs that target social and economic development of the region by providing active participation and development of the youth of the region in the region’s social, economic and cultural life. Furthermore, GDC strives to enhance an active participation of the youth in the society and implant in the brains of the youth the principles of respect and tolerance against the other cultures and help them to develop their intellectual capacities and vocational skills. GDC activities and projects focus on preparing young people for life and work, by combining and strengthening volunteering and social action to links to employment, education and training as well as on promoting and ensuring young people’s democratic and social rights, encouraging their social and political participation at all levels in community life. Our main target is to generate in young people a sense of responsibility and ownership, to support them to progress. GDC supports development of VET projects and activities in surrounding regions also support youth and unemployed people to develop their skills. Beside that we are promoting lifelong learning in our target groups. GDC provides expertise in building capacities at individual and organizational levels. By building information systems for VET sector, education, and employment, developing trainings and lifelong learning, and conducting surveys, research and feasibility studies related to these topics, we assist the youth and civil society actors to improve education, VET quality and youth engagement.
