About Faculty of Engineering and Pedagogy of Technical University (TU Sofia)

The Faculty is a legal successor of the Centre for education and advanced training of engineering and pedagogical staff at VMEI-Sofia, opened by a Decree of the Council of Ministers. For almost 35 years the Faculty established some of the most important values of higher education in Bulgaria such as broad-based training of specialists; interdisciplinary nature of education, based on solid fundamental general technical and pedagogical training; availability of elective specialization modules and groups of disciplines in the curricula. Today the Faculty is the only higher technical school for professional engineering and pedagogical education in Bulgaria and the largest engineering and educational centre in Southeastern Bulgaria with highly qualified research and teaching staff. It is a preferred place for training of foreigners in the region with high quality standards. The Faculty is one of the leaders in the system of postgraduate education within the Technical University of Sofia.
