About Albanian Skills – National Association for Skills Competitions

Albanian Skills – The National Association of Skills Competitions is an innovative platform for the promotion and development of skills for all. It organizes national and local activities that promote the education and professional training of young people and others, their exposure to the world of work and life, and international standards to facilitate and mediate good employment for their well-being. It is the promoter and organizer of non-formal and informal learning as the most important part of lifelong learning (LLL) and skills for life through the organization of training that promotes digital literacy and green transition, and ways to reorient skills systems in line with the Green Deal ambitions. It organizes the annual editions of the Albanian National Skills Competitions (seven in a row so far), focusing on innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and the decent life of youth in Albania.

Since 2018, it has organized the Albanian Skills Week in the framework of European Vocational Skills Week. For a whole week, various training sessions, seminars, shows, and exhibitions take place, along with open days in different companies, filled with fun and educational activities initiated by strategic industry and technology partners. Through all these initiatives and programs, young people are empowered and connected to professional networks and opportunities. Since 2019, Albanian Skills has been a hosting and sending organization for students and staff from Albanian schools to EU countries and from EU countries to Albania. Additionally, Albanian Skills facilitates and develops career services for youngsters in the most remote municipalities and initiates a national awareness platform through the organization of “Career Days” in every municipality, fostering cooperation among municipalities and private sector involvement. Albanian Skills has been an active member of the EU Pact for Skills since 2023 and the European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA) since 2018. Since January 2023, it has been an OSHVET Ambassador for Albania and an EfVET member since 2024.
