In September 2005, the European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training (EVBB) held its first conference after the enlargement of the EU. The conference took place in the Budapest Parliament of the Hungarian Republic.
The event saw the participation of esteemed dignitaries, including the President of the Hungarian Parliament, Dr. Katalin Szili, the Minister of Employment and Labor of the Hungarian Republic, Gábor Csizmár, and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage of the Hungarian Republic, Prof. Dr. András Benedek. The focus of the conference was on addressing the requirements of vocational education in the context of internationality and regionality.
The National Institute of Vocational Education of Hungary and the National Institute of Adult Education of Hungary played crucial roles in the successful organization and execution of the conference. The discussions revolved around the requirements for vocational education in light of the EU’s priority for growth and employment.
Throughout the conference, extensive discussions and presentations of successful projects aimed to stimulate and implement vocational education initiatives in the participating countries. The close cooperation between EVBB members and cooperating institutions facilitated the sharing of best practices and innovative ideas in the field of vocational education.
A notable highlight of the conference was the distribution of conference publications to all members of the European Parliament and the German Bundestag, as well as national education institutions through EVBB members. This effort aimed to disseminate valuable insights and findings to a wider audience, promoting the advancement of vocational education across Europe.
