About ForMare – Polo Nazionale per lo Shipping
ForMare – National Shipping Hub is the service company of Confitarma and a leading professional and technical centre for Blue Economy. ForMare can boast many years of experience in the reference sector. ForMare promotes networks among key stakeholders of the shipping industry, Maritime Clusters and Public Authorities at national and EU level; facilitates the meeting between demand and supply through the matching of skills and needs; supports technologies and innovation in the maritime field; promotes business acceleration models and R&D activities for operating in the shipping industry.
Achievements
ForMare is a leading professional and technical centre for Blue Economy and can boast years of experience in the reference sector. Among its main achievements, it is worth to mention the process of definition and development of training materials for the identification of new future proof skills – mainly, green and digital skills – in the maritime sector, thanks to its participation as WP Leader of the Erasmus+ Project SkillSea. Furthermore, ForMare is promoting clustering activities through a close cooperation with Maritime Clusters operating in the Mediterranean area and the WestMed Maritime Cluster Alliance in order to bridge the gap between the existing needs and the current skillset of Maritime Cluster Managers, increasing competitiveness of Maritime Clusters in the Mediterranean Area and boosting the innovation and sustainable growth in the Blue Economy sector. To this scope, ForMare is Project Leader of the Erasmus+ Project MARMED.
ForMare supports the creation of new professional profiles, as in the national project I.S.A.B.E.L.LA. Io Sono Acqua Building Environment LLAb European Social Fund – Campania Region ROP 2014-2020, aimed to. ForMare is co-leader of the project consisting in the adaptation to the skills needs, with specific reference to green skills, necessary for the development of innovative start-ups with high-level of innovation in compliance with Regional Smart Specialization Strategy. ForMare is also involved in the promotion of R&D activities for the Maritime sector with specific focus in the development of technologies and innovation in support of the Twin Transition, e.g. through the participation to the Horizon Europe Project AENEAS which aims to provide new technological sustainable solutions to improve overall energy efficiency promoting lower energy consumption of waterborne transport vessels. ForMare actively fosters synergy among sector stakeholders, promoting collective efforts to address common challenges and achieve sustainable development goals in the shipping industry.
