Pact for Skills – Mobilising all partners to invest in skills

On 19 January, the European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA) organised a live discussion ‘Pact for Skills: Mobilising all partners to invest in skills’. Margarida Segard, Vice President of the EVBB, took part in the discussion.

Launched in November 2020, the Pact for Skills promotes joint action to maximise the impact of investing in upskilling and reskilling. The Pact calls on industry, employers, social partners, chambers of commerce, public authorities, education and training providers, and employment agencies to work together and to create a shared vision and action.

During the live discussion, the speakers shared their views on the Pact for Skills, its benefits and potential.

The live discussion was chaired by Alison Crabb, Head of Unit, Skills and Qualifications at the Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion. The speakers included representatives of the automotive sector, regional authorities, VET providers, large and small companies including:

  • Jakub Stolfa – Automotive sector
  • A representative of ENEL
  • Giorgos Giorgakis – Eurosuccess Consulting
  • Zdenek Karasek – Moravian region
