This first European Vocational Skills Week took place from 5 to 9 December 2016 in Brussels, in European Member States plus EFTA and EU candidate countries. The so called VET Week closed with an estimated 702,250 people taking part in more than 900 activities across Europe that were organised at national, regional and local levels. Around 1400 participants joined the workshops, conferences and other events – for instance the EVBB / EVTA conference – in Brussels.

In addition, all VET related alliances and discussion groups will be thoroughly scrutinized to see where EVBB has to be more active, such as the European Alliance for Apprenticeships, the Pact for Youth and others.

The EU Commission’s DG Employment, Social Affairs & Inclusion was live to discuss Business and VET with Arnaldo Abruzzini, EUROCHAMBRES’ CEO, and Margarida Segard, Vice President of the European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training (EVBB).
